The implant surgery offers an alternative to dentures or a dental bridge. Surgeons

implant artificial teeth that look and function like the teeth of a real person. Typically,

the system takes place in stages over several months. A surgeon places a dental

cylinders in the patient’s jaw implant, and this is allowed to cure for several weeks or

months. Then a message is attached, and then the tooth is located.

Before surgery

Most dental implants are performed on an outpatient basis or in a dentist

office or hospital. If you are undergoing general anesthesia, is

instructed not to eat or drink after some time the day before. It is advisable to wear

comfortable clothes and to have someone to guide the appointment.

During the surgery

You will be local or general anesthesia. The surgeon cut into your gum

After the operation

Once you are awake and alert, you will be allowed to return home. The doctor

medicines for pain and may also prescribe an antibiotic. You can also receive a

temporary denture or bridge to use while you wait for the installation to complete.

your face on that side. Some people also have nausea from anesthesia. Plan

a soft diet for 5-7 days after surgery.

Recovery

It can take 2-6 months for the jawbone to grow around the implant cylinder. This

growth must occur before implementation can be completed.
